In the words of Paul Bryant, “If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride – and never quit, you’ll be a winner. The price of victory is high but so are the rewards.”
My first two weeks in ISM have been, in many ways, a test for me. A test of my self-confidence, a test of my time management skills, a test of my work ethic. The level of independence this class permits is refreshing, but it also requires an immense amount of self-motivation and dedication to meet deadlines. I know that I possess these qualities, but self-doubt was still present while I was completing my first assignments in ISM. Was the work I was submitting meet the high standards of this rigorous course?Admittedly, facing the reality that I will be putting myself and my writing out into the professional world was daunting at first. However, I realized that if I am going to do so, I need to have complete confidence in myself and be proud of my work. If I can’t believe in myself, who would?
More than anything, the past two weeks have taught me that believing in yourself is truly the key to success. Moving forward, I am prepared to tackle the challenges of this course, giving it my best effort every time. Inevitably, I will stumble along the way, but my best is all that I can do. After all, nothing truly amazing happens inside of one’s comfort zone.
